At Faith Kids we believe every kid should be known, connected, equipped, and empowered. We’re here to help kids say “yes” to Jesus and His purposes for their lives.   Through age-specific lessons, activities, and small groups, children learn biblical truths and real-life lessons they can apply to their lives every week.

This form is divided into two parts.  The top part is the 'Application', and the bottom is acknowledgement of 'Expected Duties and Policies & Procedures'.

▒▒ EXPECTED DUTIES / POLICIES AND PROCEDURES ▒▒

The following policy is regarding all children's ministries at Faith Ministries at all campuses. The safety and security of the children who are under the supervision of Faith Ministries is of utmost paramount. This policy will be adhered to when making decisions regarding Children's ministry security and safety.

This policy has been approved by the lead pastor and pastoral staff. Any corrections and additions made to this document require approval by the lead pastor and or his representative.

░ Safety Policy ░


● No one will be allowed to work with children unless the background is approved by the Ministry Director or Pastor.

● Children's Pastors will be responsible for reviewing any volunteer applicant in the children's ministry. The children's Pastor is ultimately responsible for any and all volunteers that are part of the children's ministry

● Parents must register each of their children in the registration program.

● Parents will need to agree and abide by all safety regulations regarding the pickup and drop off of their children.

● All Parents must fill out a Permission Form in order for their child to take part in any activity outside of Church property.

░ Safety Procedure ░


All volunteers of Faith Ministries who work with children must agree to complete the following steps:

1. Application submission with Background Check (18 years and older).

2. Signed ministry agreement to comply with Policy & Procedures regarding the children's Ministry. (This form)

3. Volunteers that wish to serve in a class must be in the 6th grade. Middle School students may serve in limited capacities as determined by the leadership.

4. Teenage age volunteers will receive their responsibilities from there classroom teachers.

● Teenage volunteers are to be only used in areas that they have proven to be capable.
● Teenage Volunteers are to be on the schedule or given permission by the supervisor to serve in a classroom during a particular service.

5. All children's ministry workers will have some type of identifying item that will distinguish them from other workers ( Name tag, T-shirts etc.) to be determined by children's pastor.

6. All volunteers will utilize the computer Check-In system in order to register children upon arrival.

7. All volunteers should arrive 30 minutes prior to service start time. ( allows you as the volunteer to familiarize yourself with the curriculum for the day).

8. If needed please make sure that you stop by the Kitchen to pick up the snacks for the children.

9. Volunteers must remain at the children's ministry event/service until the last child has been picked up/checked-out by a parent or until relieved by a member of leadership. NO EXCEPTIONS!

10. IF you are unable to serve on your designated weekend, volunteers are asked to try and reschedule with another volunteer, as you switch things up, please inform supervisor of the switch was made or not. Your supervisor can assist with the change.

11. All supervisors are those that are covering for the Children's lead Pastor / Anyone who is covering the Check-In area/desk.

░ Classroom Management Policy ░


1. During children's church hours, all leaders and workers will challenge anyone that has entered the children's area that is unknown to them.

2. If you notice any unfamiliar person in the children's area, please ask his or her identity and notify the Children's Ministry leader.

3. The Children's Pastor has the right to remove anyone that he or she feels that is not authorized to be in the children's area.

4. Security personnel will be assigned to every child's service/event that is conducted within the facility.

░ Ministry Classroom Procedure ░


1. Parent should be called from service in the event that a child is completely inconsolable, or for any other issues that the teacher feels that the parent or guardian should be notified.

2. In the event that a minor injury has occurred in the classroom, notify the check-in desk immediately. Make sure that an incident report was filed. Ex: fall with a scrape, a bruise, a bite or child to child hitting and anything else that the teacher feels that should be reported.

3. If child appears to be sick you may confirm with the family that they haven't vomited, had a fever or diarrhea in more than 24 hours. If they have we will request that the child stay with their parents that day. We cannot turn children away for runny noses and a cough.

4. Any incidents of any sort that causes a child to become upset please make the Supervisor aware so they can reach out to the family as necessary. We don't want our little ones to fear coming back to church.

░ Check-In and Check-Out Procedures ░


1. Upon arrival, each child is to be checked-in to the appropriate assigned area. Hand the parent or guardian the receipts. The receipt is to be kept by the parent/guardian to claim the child at the end of the service.

2. Check out is through the gym. In the last five minutes of service a volunteer will be asked to open the gym doors and the door leading to velocity.

3. Volunteers should be responsible for the check-in of each child. Their duties should include and not limited to greeting, collecting stickers, asking for special instructions, completing the internal numbering process (preschool), etc.

4. The parent or guardian must provide the appropriate receipt during check-out of their child. When a parent arrives, be sure to collect the matching claim receipt prior to releasing the child.

5. No person under the age of 16 is allowed to claim a child out of the classroom without the matching claim receipt.

6. Classroom leaders are to remove each child's name tag label from the child's clothing before releasing him or her to a verified adult. This notifies security that the child has been properly checked out.

7. Under no circumstances is a child to be checked out of any other door unless the parent/guardian has spoken with Service Director.

░ Children's Ministry ░


1. Children that are having difficulty becoming calm in an appropriate amount of time, notify the Check-In area/desk and parents will be contacted.

2. Make sure that all new families feel greeted and valued as they come in the check-in desk area.

░ Restroom Escort Procedures ░


1. Kids are never allowed to go to the bathroom by themselves.

2. A Faith Kids volunteer is the only one allowed to take the child to the bathroom.

3. We use the main bathrooms located by the water fountain near the gym.

4. The volunteer is to take the child to the bathroom and wait outside until the child is finished (encourage sanitary practices and ask if they washed their hands).

5. Boys are to go with male leaders and girls are to go with female leaders.

░ Classroom Management Procedures ░


1. Curriculum should be used respecting the short attention span of the children

● Bible truths are to be repeated throughout the class
● Use the Gym, playground if needed but make sure that the supervisor knows where you are at all times ( take a radio)
● Format of weekly class is dependent upon the volunteer.
● All areas should be left clean and tidy ( any damage of anything notify supervisor)

2. There is to be no corporal punishment of any kind for any reason (i.e. spanking, pinching, etc.).

A. Children are not to be grabbed or tugged.
B. Harsh reprimanding children is not allowed.
C. Children becoming a classroom issue, please call for supervisor.
